MPS Athletics for 2020-21

MPS Athletics for 2020-21

Turn in completed 2020-21 athletic forms to your high school athletic director.
Middle School Athletic Programs have been shifted to Community Education.  Please contact Community Education for additional information. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board also provides opportunities for youth athletic programming; contact your local park for schedules and registration.
We encourage families to get no cost athletic physicals through School Based Clinics. Appointments can be scheduled directly with your school's clinic.  TRIA also offers no cost athletic physicals.

Educational Benefits information

Families are reminded to complete application for Educational Benefits Form to qualify for reduced athletic participation fees.  See your school athletic director for additional information regarding hardship status.

MPS High school athletic programs are open to all MPS students in grades 7-12.  Students in 7th and 8th grade may participate in their home high school attendance area or at their "partnered" high school.  Please contact the District Athletic Office with any questions (612)-668-0600.

Students at FAIR, Heritage Academy and Wellstone International will have access to the entire array of high school programming through the expanded use of Cooperative Sponsorships (Edison/Heritage, Patrick Henry/FAIR, Roosevelt/Wellstone). And students in grades 7 and 8 may participate in high school programs per Minnesota State High School League rules. NOTE: Transportation to practices is not provided by the district.
Transportation is not provided to practices for any student in any grade but is provided to away games with pickup and drop off at a MPS high school or predesignated location. The same transportation policy applies to middle school students participating in high school sports.
